Angel investors offer advice to entrepreneurs on raising money (audio)
In the order that they speak, they were:
- Judy Obermayer, angel investor (member of Launchpad Venture Group and GoldenSeeds)
- Mark Jung, California angel investor and entrepreneur
- Jeff Fagnan, angel investor, backer of AngelList, and partner at Atlas Venture
- Steve Kane, angel investor and entrepreneur (Gamesville, GameLogic, LuckyLabs)
Here's some of what we discussed:
- Representative recent investments by the panelists
- How they do due diligence on companies
- The conflicts that can arise when venture capitalists and angels invest in the same company
- How/where you meet angel investors
- When is the right time to raise angel money?
- How AngelList works
- Giving away equity to contractors or employees (in exchange for work on the start-up)
The audio was recorded on my iPhone, so you'll have to turn it up to hear the panelists who sat at the far ends of the table (Judy and Steve).
