Should you get it?: Yes, if you hate having to ask yourself "how much longer?"
My phone is how I keep track of phone numbers, addresses, food recommendations, my collar size ... (you get the picture). Anything I can file away digitally, I will. It leaves more room in my brain for important things like which Kardashian is which.
So when I started getting excited for a half-marathon in November, I wanted my phone to start telling me every day how much longer I have until I run 13.1 miles in Disney World. It was irritating for me to constantly look up the date and the do the math.
Enter DaysUntil. This free app for Apple products tells you how much longer until an event will happen. That's its sole purpose, and it does that extremely well.
Sure, it won't change the world nor give you new insights into how you run your life, but it will do all kinds of pesky calendar math. If you just want something to answer "How much longer?" then this is for you. As a bonus, it also lets you put cute icons to denote your events, which is fun.
You can enter multiple events. I have my run, Christmas, my birthday, and my anniversary. For each, I got to enter an icon to symbolize the event. If you don't have a photo of your own to use, the app gives you a decent library to pull from.
Overall, the app is ridiculously simple. Just download it from the App Store, and then hit the plus sign in the upper right to start inputting data. You can enter as many entries as you would like.
The free version has ads that scroll across the bottom. You can pay 99 cents to remove these. I haven't found them irritating enough to pay the money to get rid of them.
One other note, when you search in the store for the app, make sure you download the one with the purple icon, not the white one. The "Days Until" app with the white icon (and a space in its name) was cumbersome. This one was much easier to use.
