12 unorthodox sick day excuses

Fewer workers are calling in sick when they feel perfectly fine, according to CareerBuilders annual survey of absenteeism. In an online survey, 32 percent of US employees questioned said they have played hooky. That number dropped to 29 percent this year.
But people are creative about playing hooky: Instead of claiming a cold, some workers said they couldn't come to work because of a pumpkin pie injury, a hair transplant gone wrong, and livestock in their living room.
