In an online survey , 32 percent of US employees questioned said they have played hooky. That number dropped to 29 percent this year. But people are creative about playing hooky: Instead of claiming a cold, some workers said they couldn't come to work because of a pumpkin pie injury, a hair transplant gone wrong, and livestock in their living room.
