3. Speak their language and adapt to their style
Everyone has a personal business style, whether it be a preference for communicating or meeting. If he or she communicates best via text, e-mail or IM, make sure you have a handheld and you keep it close at all times. Learn what works best for your boss and adapt as many of your behaviors as you can. This might take getting used to, but will let you become a better communicator with your boss.
