A line of Evenflo high chairs that convert to a toddler table and chair were recalled today after reports of the trays unexpectedly coming off, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
Evenflo reported 18 incidents to the government leading to at least eight children getting hurt after falling from the high chairs, the CPSC said.
About 35,000 of the Chinese-made high chairs were sold since December by Toys R Us and Walmart for about $40. The model numbers (they can be found on a label on the lower section of one of the high chair legs) included in the recall are: 29111259, 29111271 and 29111234
If you have one of the recalled high chairs, contact Evenflo to get a replacement tray. You can reach Evenflo at (800) 233-5921 weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Time or visit the Evenflo recall site.
