According to its website, University Station is a mixed-use project that envisions retail and residences as well as office and hotel space. Among retailers planning to open stores there are Wegmans, the supermarket chain, and Nordstrom Rack, a Globe story from November noted. The project’s 130 acre site is adjacent to the Route 128 Amtrak and MBTA Station.
Target said its planned store will feature about 135,000 square feet of space, including space for fresh food offerings. The store will also feature a Starbucks, a Target Pharmacy, and a Target Optical department. The store, which will be Target’s 26th in Greater Boston, will employ around 200 people.
At University Station, the first wave of residences and stores, including Wegmans and Target, is expected to open in 2015. Later phases will bring 350,000 square feet of office space, a 150-room hotel, and additional residences and stores.
