Santander Bank said that its Santander Select, a personalized banking service designed for customers with more than $250,000 in deposit and investment accounts, is now available at its branches located at One Beacon St. and 61 Arlington St. in Boston.
“Our Santander Select service is designed to enhance our customers’ experience,” Mike Bruno, the bank’s region president for Northern New England, said in a statement. “Consumers today are focused on maximizing value and ensuring that they’re making the most of their money. We believe our customers will find the Santander Select program to be an extremely attractive option.”
Benefits of being a Santander Select customer include assignment of a personal banker, premium rates on interest bearing accounts, lower interest rates on loans, and reduced mortgage rates and fees, the bank said.
Santander previously operated under Sovereign Bank nameplate in Massachusetts. Spanish banking giant Banco Santander SA dropped the Sovereign name for its American branches late last year.
With corporate offices in Boston, the bank’s US operations do business principally in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. The bank has 1.8 million customers.
As part of its campaign to introduce its brand and draw more customers, Santander Bank is launching several new products and services. They include extra20 checking, an account that pays an ongoing $20 monthly bonus for the life of the account, and Bravo MasterCard, a credit card that pays triple reward points on food, restaurants, and gas.
