Comcast announced the addition of 18 live streaming channels to the Xfinity TV Go app including A&E, Bravo, Cooking Channel, DIY Network, E!, Food Network, HISTORY, mun2, Oxygen, STARZ, Syfy, TBS, TNT, Travel Channel, and USA Network.
The move comes as some consumers consider other options for viewing video entertainment and cutting ties with their cable provider. The latest addition of streaming channels seems to be part of an ongoing strategy to assure Comcast cable TV subscribers that they will be awash in choices.
With the ability to also stream more than 25,000 On Demand choices and download thousands of hit movies and TV shows to watch offline later, the Xfinity TV Go app now offers more than 50 live channels to enjoy on-the-go, wherever there is a WiFi connection, Comcast said.
“Everything we do revolves around providing our customers with the very best content wherever and whenever they want it, and the Xfinity TV Go app is just another example of that,” Matt Strauss, senior vice president and general manager for Comcast Cable’s video services, said in a statement. “Xfinity TV customers can now enjoy live programming from more than 50 of the most popular networks. We will continue to aggressively expand both the live and On Demand offerings on the app and provide our customers with the ultimate selection of content across all devices.”
