Boston officials have approved scaled-down plans for an office building at the former Hood dairy headquarters in Charlestown, where developers are proceeding with a broader transformation of the 20-acre property.
The owner, Catamount Management, will build 126,000 square feet of office space by renovating and expanding a warehouse at 500 Rutherford Avenue. Construction is scheduled to start in May.
The Boston Redevelopment Authority signed off on revised plans for the $25 million project during a meeting Thursday night. The developer previously planned a 158,000-square-foot addition to the warehouse, but has reduced the size of the expansion to 61,000 square feet.
