Linear Retail Properties LLC, a Burlington-based firm that buys, owns, develops, and operates retail properties throughout New England, said that Peet’s Coffee & Tea has signed a lease for a coffee shop at the corner of Charles and Mount Vernon streets in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood.
In some highly caffeinated circles, Peet’s is regarded as the gold standard of California joe. And Peet’s could become the Beacon Hill place to go for the Blended Freddo.
The lease is for 1,842 square feet of space at 62 Charles St., Linear Retail Properties said; the address was previously the site of the Charles Street Market.
According to Peet’s website, there are about a half a dozen Peet’s stores in Massachusetts, including ones in Cambridge, Brookline, and Newton.
In a statement, Joel Kadis, partner of leasing at Linear Retail Properties, said: “Peet’s Coffee will bring a vibrant, upscale, coffee shop experience to the heart of Beacon Hill. It took a while but we believe we found the ideal retailer for our marquis Beacon Hill location.”
