Ulta Salon Cosmetics & Fragrance reported its quarterly income rose 20 percent to $41.8 million as shoppers streamed into its stores and onto its website. Online sales jumped 70 percent. Ulta, The Wall Street Journal said, is a “lesser-known chain that is expanding ambitiously. And investors have taken notice.” The company increased square footage 22 percent last year to 576 stores and plans 125 more stores this year.
