Healthy Delivery: Lovin’ Spoonfuls connects the hungry with excess food

As much as 40 percent of food generated in America is wasted, but Lovin’ Spoonfuls is on a mission to change that: The MassChallenge alum connects local grocery stores, bakeries, and restaurants who have excess, untouched, but perishable food items with the hunger assistance organizations that can turn them around into fresh meals.

This week’s The Innovators looks inside Lovin’ Spoonfuls, which is now delivering over 8,000 pounds of food each week. Lisa Zwirn profiled the organization back when founder Ashley Stanley started out in 2010 with a single truck — now there are three.
