Staples to offer 3D printing abroad

Mcor Technologies

Framingham-based Staples will offer full-color 3D printing in stores in Netherlands and Belgium starting in the first quarter next year, offering an accessible option for those looking to make their digital 3D doodles a reality.

The program, dubbed Staples Easy 3D, uses layered slices of paper as opposed to the plastics that many other 3D printers use.

The printers are from the Irish company Mcor Technologies, which announced the news yesterday at the Euromold 2012 conference. No word yet on if and when 3D printing would be available domestically, though I have a call and email out to Staples asking.
