JetBlue Airways is offering Bostonian snowbirds more options this winter.
The low-cost carrier has added seven more flights per week from Logan International Airport to the Caribbean through April 30, bringing the weekly total up to 24 from last winter.
JetBlue has introduced three weekly winter flights to Aruba, a route it didn't offer a year ago. And it has six weekly flights to Cancun, Mexico, up from three last winter, and eight weekly flights to Nassau in the Bahamas, up from seven.
Additionally, the airline is temporarily offering flights for the holidays, from Dec. 12 to Jan. 15, between Boston and Santiago, Dominican Republic.
And it plans to add "a handful of extra flights on those 'super-peak' February and April vacation weekends" so travelers headed for Cancun or Nassau can choose between two flights a day, said spokesman Sebastian White.

Service at Hanscom avoids long security lines
There's a new option for travelers who want to avoid long security lines at the airport. Concord-based Linear Air is the first charter flight service in the Northeast using "Very Light Jets," which are lighter than standard business jets and can take off from short runways. The air-taxi company, which said it offers prices close to commercial airlines' first-class or last-minute fares, launched its inaugural Eclipse 500 Very Light Jet at Hanscom Field Thursday to offer an alternative for business travelers seeking to avoid the hassles of flying on commercial airlines. Charter flight travelers don't have to pass through a security checkpoint and can drive right onto Hanscom's tarmac. The new jets can accommodate three to four passengers and fly up to 1,000 miles. Reservations can be made by phone at 1-877-2-LINEAR.
