Cambridge Health Alliance
Last fall, the three-hospital Cambridge Health Alliance was expected to lose 600 employees as a result of $40 million in budget cuts from the state. Through negotiations and expense reductions, 300 jobs were saved, but a new round of cuts and other voluntary sacrifices are being asked of employees, including salary cuts for executives, who also will forgo their bonuses and incentive-based compensation. The Alliance has nearly 3,900 employees, plus 324 physicians.
