Tax breaks: Potentially more than $7.8 million in state taxes
The Bedford company received a tax break to expand its data center in Boxborough in 2004. The 5 percent state investment tax credit could be worth $7.8 million based on the company's plans to invest $156.6 million. It also received a 1 percent break on its local taxes for any expansion over 20 years. As part of the expansion, IDC promised to add 16 jobs. As of last summer, the company said it had created 18 new jobs and claimed $2.2 million in state tax credits, but didn't report saving any money on local taxes.
