Tax breaks: Potentially $25.1 million in state and local taxes
The biotech, which is a unit of a British drug company, received $48 million in state and local aid in exchange for a promise to expand its operations at Raytheon's former headquarters in Lexington. The incentives included $7.6 million in local property tax breaks over 20 years and an investment tax credit potentially worth $17.5 million as part of the Economic Development Incentive Program. The rest of the incentives were awarded under other programs. In exchange, the company promised to invest $350 million in the site, create 680 new jobs, and preserve 550 existing jobs in the state.
