Vendors interested in a public food market

Westport Rivers is a family owned vineyard and winery that operates on "New England's largest vineyard," according to its website.
Bill Russell (no, not the Celtics legend), whose family operates the farm, says that a public market would benefit the local companies that take part. It would allow the consumer to come in direct contact with the business, which can boost sales especially for companies like Westport Rivers that are losing sales due to out-of-state competition.
"It's proven very challenging to attract consumers from far away," said Russell.
