Boston is a major hub for education. The Bay State is expected to receive more than a $1 billion from the stimulus for federal education aid.

On March 3, Governor Deval Patrick said: "With these additional federal funds, we can and should bring every community up to full foundation funding in the next fiscal year, and also restore some of the cuts we have had to make to state and community colleges and UMass."
