Average commute during worst driving hours: 51 percent longer than normal on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
The most congested stretch of road outside the nation's capital is on I-95 between I-395 and Exit 148. The 23.9-mile route, which usually takes 23 minutes, can take up to 52 minutes during rush hour and even up to 86 minutes during Friday evening.
