BlackBerry fail in October
For nearly three days in October, many of BlackBerry's 70 million users were without use of their CrackBerries. A crucial traffic-routing computer failed in Europe and started the problem, and a backup also failed. The disruption could not have come at a worse time for Research In Motion Ltd., as it struggles to compete with Apple's iPhone and with smartphones running the Android system from Google Inc.
To make it up to customers, Blackberry offered more than $100 worth of free software to customers.
