Making Boston 'awesome' for entrepreneurs
'A community of mentors'
Whose idea? Shahbano Imran and David Tolioupov.
Who are they? Boston college graduates who founded LocalOn.com which gives small businesses an outlet to advertise.
These two entrepreneurs moved to Silicon Valley after receiving money from Boston investors, hoping to take advantage of the area's extensive networking opportunities. What Boston needs is something similar: by spreading opportunity to all areas of study and by raising awareness for these kinds of programs, such as MassChallenge, a nonprofit group and TechTrek at Boston College, which help young entrepreneurs.
