Shoe Carnival names new board member
EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Shoe Carnival Inc. announced Friday that it has appointed James Aschleman to its board of directors.
Aschleman previously served on the shoe retailer's board from 2001 to 2006. Before his retirement last year, he worked as a partner with law firm Baker & Daniels LLP, where he advised public and private companies on a range of issues from executive compensation to mergers and acquisitions.
Shoe Carnival also said William Bindley has decided he will not stand for re-election to the board. He has served as a director since 1993.
The company will hold its annual shareholders meeting June 14 to vote on the board changes.
Shoe Carnival, based in Evansville, Ind., operates 337 discount shoe stores across the country.
