PAWTUCKET, R.I. — Toymaker Hasbro Inc. is moving about 70 jobs from its western Massachusetts facility to Rhode Island and laying off another 75 Massachusetts-based workers in a reorganization of its gaming division.

The cost of the move disclosed yesterday will appear in Hasbro’s second-quarter earnings report, but will not affect its 2011 outlook.

Pawtucket-based Hasbro says the loss of 145 jobs in East Longmeadow, Mass., is part of its plan to create a new center for game development.

Hasbro is receiving up to $1.6 million in tax breaks from Rhode Island to add nearly 300 jobs in the state over the next three years.

A Hasbro spokesman declined to say whether yesterday’s move was related to that plan.

Before the announcement, Hasbro employed 1,400 in Rhode Island and 895 in Massachusetts.
