Location: State Street in front of the Old State House
Known as the first martyr of the American Revolution, Crispus Attucks was killed when British troops opened fire on a crowd of Bostonians. Some reports say Attucks led the group that confronted the soldiers, hurling snowballs and debris. Others say he was leaning on a stick, watching when the soldiers opened fire. He was the first to die; four others were killed there, and six others died later.
