Merrimac thinks small

The Merrimac Board of Selectmen has put two small Proposition 2 1/2 overrides on the warrant for the April 30 Town Meeting.
One override is for $47,000 to hire a full-time firefighter/EMT. The other, for $30,700, would fund a nutrition program for the Council on Aging, and would include the hiring of a 28-hour cook.
Health benefits for both positions were factored into the override requests.
