Try something original this Mother's Day.

The Angino Community Farm, for example, is sponsoring a walk in Nahanton Park to witness the annual spring bird migration. Bring binoculars and gather at the upper parking area at 8 a.m. For more information, call Cris Criscitiello at 617-244-6397.

In the evening, Newton Dialogues on Peace and War will celebrate with folk songs and food at the Eliot Church, 474 Center St. in Newton Corner, at 7:30 p.m. More information about this event is available online.

And c'mon Dad, you know what she really wants. Give her a break, pack up the brood, and take them down to the annual Kids FunFest, which takes place on the grounds of City Hall (on both Saturday and Sunday) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
