The scene at the polls in West Newton

As of 8:10 a.m. this morning, 182 people from Newton's Ward 3, Precinct 2 had voted at the Peirce Elementary School on Temple Street.

The atmosphere in the gym was fairly calm. About 20 people were inside casting their ballots, many with their children at their sides.

Several people stood outside holding signs endorsing Patrick and Tim Murray, Patrick's running mate. Also, one supporter held a sign for Kay Khan, who is running unopposed for state representative.
