Should historic district be history?

Why should a section of the city be labeled historic? That's the question before the Newtonville Historic District Commission tomorrow night.

Some homeowners want to opt out of the restrictive district, which was created about three and a half years ago. If they are successful, the change would remove the section of Prescott Street to the east of Central Avenue.

Commission members will vote whether to study the proposition in a meeting starting at 7:30 in Room 202 in City Hall.
