A golden performance for Jordan

Framingham's Jarrad Jordan is finishing his Curry College football career with a flourish.

The senior tailback rushed for 174 yards -- including 76 in the fourth quarter -- of Curry's 34-28 win over the Coast Guard Academy in Saturday's New England Football Conference Championship game.

For the second straight year, he was honored as the game's MVP.
Today, the 5-foot-11, 205-pound Jordan received the weekly Division II-III Gold Helmet Award from the New England College Football Writers Association at Harvard's Dillon Field House. (The award is sponsored by the Globe.)

"I couldn't have done this without my offensive line," said Jordan, who is averaging 103.8 yards rushing per game. "Just a great job by my O-line."

Curry (11-0) will play at Springfield College (9-1) in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoffs Saturday at noon.
