Mary A. Heald, 65


Mary A. (Bates) Heald, of Shirley, a former X -ray technician at a Marlborough hospital, died Oct. 9 at her home. She was 65.

Heald was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, and grew up in Louisbourg, Nova Scotia. She and her family lived for several years in Littleton before moving to Shirley in 1995.

Mrs. Heald worked as an X -ray technician at UMass Memorial Marlborough Hospital, retiring last year after 29 years.

She was the wife of 40 years of E. Murray Heald.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Heald leaves two sons, Paul M. of Lunenburg and Gary P. of Seymour, Conn.; a daughter, Jennifer A. of Shirley; four brothers, Winfred Bates, Ben Bates, John Bates, and Paul Bates, all of Nova Scotia, Canada; a sister, Jeannette DeYoung of Canada; and three grandchildren.
