Bomb threat clears Newton South

A bomb threat at Newton South High School late this morning forced staff and students to evacuate the building while safety officials searched the building for a half an hour. Nothing was found.

In a bulletin e-mailed to parents this afternoon, Principal Brian Salzer said the threat was called into Newton Police at 11:15 a.m.

Police are investigating the source of the threat, according to police Lieutenant Bruce Apotheker.
