Global warming in Newton

Climate change is real and the only debate is over how it will manifest itself and what we can do to mitigate it, says Stephen R. Connors of Newton.

Connors, a researcher at the MIT Laboratory for Energy and the Environment, wrote a Letter to the Editor today responding to a column Wednesday by Alex Beam.

He said communicating complexity is a challenge facing scientists and journalists and Beam "dodges this challenge by suggesting that there isn't a scientific consensus on whether climate change exists."
