Sarah Reiss of Ashland admits in today's New York Times that she didn't know much about buying pianos when she plunked down $1,900 for one so she could pursue her long-held dream of playing.
The Times story in which Reiss is featured is a primer on how to buy a piano. It notes there is a bewildering variety of pianos available nowadays.
Reiss's first piano was used. She's now bought her second, a brand-new one. Reiss, 56, says she loves it and expects it to last the rest of her life.
