Act Global, Eat Local

The Medway Farmers' Market will celebrate ``Eat In, Act Out Week'' next Monday, Aug. 31 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Choate Park on Route 109.

The event -- initiated by BLAST, a youth program of The Food Project which advocates for buying and eating locally grown foods, will feature food from local growers.

Whole Foods Market will also offer free samples of recipes made from local food producers, and hand out free tote bags to the first 50 visitors. The event will be capped off with a free community concert with music from Mickey Cassidy's Irish restaurant.

... Perhaps this will get you started on your 100-mile diet, the new regimen where everything you eat must have come from within a 100-mile radius, according to a recent Globe article.
