_ Con-Selmer Inc., the brass instrument subsidiary of Waltham-based Steinway Musical Instruments Inc., today began hiring workers to replace 230 employees on strike at its Vincent Bach plant in Elkhart, Ind.

_ Hopkinton-based data storage giant EMC Corp. plans to double its investment in India to $500 million over the next four years, as part of efforts to boost local sales and expand its Indian research facility, the company's chairman said Tuesday.
