Monday question: Carpooling courtesy
Happy Monday, readers -- It's good to be back home after my visit to the Midwest.
What is your take on this ride-giver's gripe?
Occasionally I provide rides to events for other people, whom I know casually.
Invariably, one of the passengers shows up with a drink container (coffee usually) in hand and proceeds to consume the beverage while in the car. There is never an apology or offer to provide coffee for me.
This seems to me to be selfish and rude.
I wouldn't mind if it was a bottle of water, but coffee? They do not offer to help pay for the gas or otherwise contribute. I may be old fashioned, but I find the "drink in hand" to be very rude, especially since they are getting a free ride.
What do you think, what are your thoughts on handling this matter?
I'll share my thoughts on Friday. Got a question of your own for Miss Conduct? Send 'em in!
