Have you ever sung karaoke? What is your favorite karaoke song? Have you ever been in a situation where you were peer-pressured into karaoke but resisted?
Miss Conduct's official recommendation on karaoke is "do it." Especially if it's at a work party, where you can show your team spirit and ability to take moderate risks, both of which are essential competencies in the workplace. If you really can't sing, go with "Rock Lobster." For one thing, it will get people dancing and they'll ignore you; for another, you don't have to sing it as much as yell random phrases like "There goes a narwhal!" at regular intervals. Even I can sing "Rock Lobster."
(Incidentally, the 2004 Ig Nobel Peace Prize went to Daisuke Inoue of Hyogo, Japan, "for inventing karaoke, thereby providing an entirely new way for people to learn to tolerate each other.")
