Traditional Touch-UpBostons Lisa Boucher disliked the mantel in her Marlborough Street condo so much that she asked a worker to start ripping it off the wall before she had a replacement. It was very contemporary, very plain, says Boucher. It wasnt much of a mantel. It was more like a big picture frame. Unable to find a prefab mantel that fit the opening, she turned to carpenter Greg Treleaven to design something that befit her 1899 space. Its wonderful, she says. Now I can actually decorate it for the holidays.
