I arrived at my doctor’s office for an appointment, only to be told it had been rescheduled for the following week. They were sorry no one had notified me. I was in considerable pain and using a walker, since I’d just had knee replacement and was wearing an Aircast for an injured ankle. Getting there had been a major effort. I was somewhere on the continuum of assertive/aggressive/total meltdown when a young woman stood up and said she was just there for a routine checkup and would be happy to reschedule and let me have her appointment. “You look like you need it more than I do,” she said. My husband and I thanked her profusely – what an incredibly kind woman.

Season’s Greetings Our 4-year-old daughter was very excited that her sitter Autumn was coming over and that it coincided with the much anticipated first day of spring. She told everyone she knew: “It’s the first day of spring and Autumn is coming!”
