Splice is right
Strategically placed lines have a queue of devotees.
Want a fresh look for fall? Divide and conquer. Color splicing creates a figure-flattering optical illusion, says Gilda Tunney, owner of the French Lessons boutiques throughout Massachusetts. “It can make the waist seem more slim or the hips less large. And a line underneath the bust gives you a lift.” While graphic line placement appears bold and architectural, softer options are available as well, Tunney adds. Patterned dresses with contrasting asymmetrical stripes are both striking and feminine, as are pretty color-blocked pumps. As seen here around town, this trend has many interesting angles.
