Once upon a time, no self-respecting college coed would hit campus without a pretty sweater set. As seen here around town, cardigans still make the grade, in both matching and quirky combinations. "The colors are delicious, not just the ones your mother used to wear," says Denise Hajjar, who carries a wide assortment in her self-named boutique at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. "And snaps versus buttons also make the look more modern and a little hipper." In light-as-a-feather knits, cardigans are a carefree summer trend you can cotton to.
