I ENJOYED your front-page feature Tuesday about Worcester’s renovated Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts (“A mighty role in downtown Worcester: Renovated theater supplies a vitality’’), until I came to the end.

Describing what Troy Siebels, executive director of the theater, views as the “rewarding’’ changes, such as “new businesses, cleaner streets’’ and “more signs of life,’’ you just had to include “fewer homeless people.’’

Sure, Worcester and Boston and everywhere else would be oh so wonderful — newer, cleaner, with signs of so much life — without those homeless!
