THE OTHER day I spent two hours in line at the CVS in Brighton waiting to get a flu shot. My primary care doctor’s office was out of vaccine and suggested that this was the best way to get the shot. As I stood in line I noticed that many insurers were covering this shot, but not all. Blue Cross Blue Shield was among insurers not covering the flu shot at this location. To my dismay, I witnessed several people drop out of line when they learned that their insurer was not paying for the shot.

Some people may resist getting flu shots, as is their right. But, all of the insurers should be making it as easy as possible for those who are motivated to get flu shots this year to get them.
