RE "MASS. November home sales fall 18.4%" (Business, Dec. 24): Housing in Massachusetts, especially in and around Boston, is unaffordable. Yet as the ridiculously inflated home prices that are Massachusetts' trademark decline, the Warren Group's chief executive can blame only potential buyers' "fear and panic." More rational, level-headed consumers have had their houses foreclosed upon, their interest rates doubled, and their financial future rocked by uncertainty. Perhaps it is time fear and panic were acknowledged as a legitimate reaction to an unsustainable market.
