The encouraging aspect of the report that five young American Muslims tried to ally themselves with extremists in Pakistan is that their parents in the United States alerted local Muslim officials in the Washington area about their concerns. That kind of attention could lessen the danger that Islamic jihadists will be able to recruit disaffected young Muslim Americans. (Full article: 206 words)
