An entertaining hashtag exploded on Twitter over the weekend — #firstlineofbushbook. As the name implies, people tweeted fictional first lines from former President Bush's much-hyped memoir.

Some of my favorites:

"The book of the genealogy of George the Decider, the son of George, the son of Prescott." — @kludwick

"It was the best of times, it was a...a...well, it was a time. " —!/@dslifton

"We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the mediocrity began to take hold." — @Andrew_Milner

"Listen good, America. I'm gonna startifate at the beginerator. " — @mkanders

All in all, though, I haven't been overly impressed, and I'm way less enamored with my contribution — "What follows is a bizarre, ultimately tragic study I conducted as research for my dissertation in political science." — than I was when I first wrote it.

I'm sure Angle readers can do better. Give it your best shot in the comments section. To keep the playing field level, Twitter rules apply — 140 characters or less. Funny contributions will be highlighted in a future post.
