The City Seen from The Boston Globe
SOUTH BOSTON -- Under the roar of airplanes from Logan Airport, children enjoy the last days of summer at Castle Island. From left, Luke Bertrand, 4, his sister Caroline, 2, of Quincy, Keira Banik of Dedham, and Grace O'Malley of Dorchester set out in search of jellyfish. Caroline and Luke's mother, Kerry Bertrand, grew up in Dorchester and spent summer days at Castle Island. 'It brings back memories from when my mom brought us here.' she says. 'It's a carefree place. It's a place where the kids can run free and you don't worry.' The day at the beach ended in a traditional way: an ice cream cone from Sullivan's.
