Eater confirms the long-standing rumor that New York City superchef Daniel Boulud will take over the Mandarin Oriental's Asana in September, with Cafe Boulud and Boulud Sud's Aaron Chambers running the kitchen. Asana has had a series of esteemed chefs lately, including Nicolas Boutin, who trained in Michelin kitchens in France, and Rachel Klein, who will open the Back Bay's Liquid Art House this spring. Hopefully the Boston hotel restaurant world is kinder to Boulud than it was to fellow New York celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who closed his Market at the W Hotel late last year.
