Bostonia Public House opens next month, a rep for the restaurant tells me. It's designed by Taniya Nayak, the TV designer behind Abby Lane and Petit Robert Central. It'll have bars on two floors, an exposed kitchen, private dining rooms, and furniture in hues of "coffee and cognac."
Speaking of drinks: John Fitzgerald, a vet of many Boston-area pubs, handles the food and beverage program. The menu is "imaginative but locally inspired." Dishes remain to be seen, but one thing is sure: The location is exceptional. Bostonia is inside the Board of Trade at the corner of Broad and State streets downtown, where Kitty O'Shea's once stood.
